AFC Bournemouth manager Kevin Bond is set to sign Everton youngster Bjarni Vidarsson.

Despite the Everton Official Site already reporting that Vidarsson had already agreed to join up with the Cherries, a deal has not yet been struck.

The loan window is currently shut and does not re-open until tomorrow.

James Lawson is also set to return to Southend as Bond cannot guarantee him first team football.

Speaking to the Daily Echo Bond said…

‘…I’ve had a chat with him (Lawson) and because I couldn’t guarantee him a first-team place, I think James has decided that he would rather go back (to Southend) or go on loan to another club.

‘I’d be more than happy to keep him, but I cannot guarantee him a first-team place at the moment.

‘So I’m thinking very strongly about taking Bjarni Vidarsson from Everton this week.

‘David Moyes has intimated that if the player wants to come, he would be very interested in letting him out to play some games.

‘While he’s not really a wide man – and I would like a winger – I’ve not been able to bring anybody in of sufficient quality.

‘If James does want to go back, that leaves us short of bodies again in the middle of the park.

‘Bjarni is somebody who can play there. He’s comfortable on the ball, has got a good engine, will get forward and get in the box for us.’
