AFC Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook made his first Premier League start of the 2017/18 campaign against former Premier League champions Leicester City.

Cook slotted in alongside Andrew Surman in a midfield four with Dan Gosling struggling for fitness and Harry Arter having Achilles issues.

The England Under 20’s World Cup winner instantly impressed and took the sponsors man of the match award for his performance in the 0-0 stalemate.

Lewis Cook told afcb.co.uk

‘…I think we`re getting back to how we were last year and we can take that as a positive.

“We were also positive going forward. We have top quality strikers there so the goals will come, maybe not today but certainly another.

“We`ve just got to continue that, stay consistent and take it into the next game. We`ve got a big game at Wembley so we`ve got to be on it…’

The way he rolls opponents reminds me of Jack Wilshere at times. Always looking to release players.
Very impressive! Can’t see how he does not get a run in the side after today.
