AFC Bournemouth and England Under 20’s World Cup winner Lewis Cook has enjoyed his break through season in the Premier League this campaign.
Cook joined the Cherries during the summer of 2016 from Championship side Leeds United for a fee reportedly in the region of £10million.
Despite being one of only a few signings to ever walk straight into an Eddie Howe starting XI on the opening day of the season against Manchester United, his appearances throughout the campaign were limited, with niggling injuries causing a stop-start season.
He then won the World Cup with England Under 20’s and returned to the south coast and initially struggled to break into the Cherries XI, behind both Andrew Surman and Harry Arter.
But he made his first Premier League start of the 2017/18 campaign against Leicester City and has now made 16 league starts (plus 4 substitute appearances).
His performances have seen him work his way up the international ladder with England, first playing for the Under 21’s before being included in the England squad.
According to The Express, he has also impressed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

‘Liverpool have been tracking the 21-year-old`s performances for Bournemouth since his move from Leeds United in 2016’, adding that the Merseyside club are plotting a £20million move for Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook to replace Emre Can.
The Liverpool Echo however have stated that Liverpool have no interest in signing Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook adding that he does not appear ‘on Liverpool’s radar’.
The fear for Cherries fans however is if Liverpool are not interested, then his performances will likely merit interest from elsewhere and can AFC Bournemouth hold on to such an English talent in the longer term?
