AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is considering sending ‘keeper Ryan Allsop out on loan next season.

The Cherries shotstopper lost his place as first choice ‘keeper last season following the signing of Lee Camp.

Following his move from Leyton Orient in January 2013, Allsop enjoyed a rapid rise through the ranks at Dean Court, leapfrogging the likes of former ‘keepers Shwan Jalal and former England International David James.

He played the final ten games of the season during the League One promotion winning campaign, conceding just five goals and keeping six clean sheets in the process.

Allsop started last seasons Championship season as first choice, but struggled at times, picking up three yellow cards and was sent off away at Leeds United. He made 12 league appearances before losing his place in the side.

But Howe hopes that a potential loan spell will help 22 year old Allsop’s development.

Howe told the Daily Echo

“We have a really strong team of goalkeepers who will hopefully push each other on to better displays…’

‘…At some stage, I might have to juggle the goalkeeping department to try to get Ryan games because, at his age, he needs to be playing regularly as well.

“Depending on how things go during pre-season, I would probably look to get Ryan out (on loan) for his own development.”
