AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has revealed that he has a number of injury doubts ahead of the visit of Portsmouth to Dean Court.
AFC Bournemouth stand-in captain Tommy Elphick is set to miss the next two to three weeks with a leg injury sustained in the horror tackle by Lowe at stadium:mk on Saturday, while left back Charlie Daniels has also missed the last couple of games with a foot injury.
With Stephane Zubar on loan to Bury and Steve Cook having had limited training for the past few weeks due to his court case the Cherries defence has limited options.
If Daniels fails a fitness test then it is likely that Howe will name the same back four that finished the game last Saturday with Matt Ritchie filling in at left back.
However Howe also revealed he had other injury concerns ahead of the game but did state that Shaun MacDonald is ready to return.
Howe told the Daily Echo…
“Shaun has been impressive since coming back and has had a full week`s training. He has looked very good. He is assured on the ball and his technique has been really impressive after such a long lay-off so we are very pleased to have him back…”
‘…We have got a couple of injury doubts but I would prefer to keep them under wraps. We have got a few players who will be having late fitness tests to see if they can make it and, hopefully, they will.
“If not, we may have to make a couple of changes.”
