AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes his side can show both flexibility and freedom against Aston Villa in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The Cherries go into the game at Villa Park on Sunday top of the Championship table.

Despite a slip up away to Leeds United on Tuesday, Ipswich Town’s defeat at Brighton meant that the Cherries would remain top over the fourth round FA Cup weekend.

The Cherries go into the game as underdogs with Aston Villa the bookies favourites at odds as short as 13/10 with Football League sponsors SkyBet.

Eddie Howe’s side are 21/10 to cause an upset, whilst the draw is available at 23/10.

Without the pressure of league points on the line, or expecting a result, Howe believes his side can play with freedom and expects his side to perform.

Howe told Sky Sports

“Our league position gives us a certain amount of freedom, There`s always pressure regardless of where you are in the league and whether you are home or away.

“In some respects, you want that to get the best out of your players.

“I have no problems in saying that I expect us to perform.

“We have flexibility and freedom, but that`s not to say we won`t try and be strong, competitive and give Aston Villa a good game.”
