AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes that strikers Yann Kermorgant and Callum Wilson will fill the void of losing Lewis Grabban to Norwich City.
The Cherries were forced to sell last seasons top goalscorer Lewis Grabban after recently relegated Premier League side Norwich City triggered a £3million release clause in his contract.
Grabban had become the first player in the clubs history to score 22 goals during a second tier campaign and had been hugely impressive during the Cherries Championship season, where the club finished 10th, setting another club record.
Over the summer, following the departure of Grabban, Howe signed Callum Wilson from Coventry City.
Wilson scored a brace on his debut against Huddersfield, whilst Kermorgant also opened his tally for the season and the strike pair have shown real potential for the season ahead.
Howe told the Daily Echo…
“Lewis was a big player for us last season, there`s no denying that, and we were disappointed to lose him but we have good strikers.
“Yann arrived in January and made a real impact on the team and, having signed Callum in the summer, we believe in him and he showed he has attributes to play at this level in what was a really good start for him.
“He was excellent and deserved his hat-trick. The penalty was disappointing for him but that was the only negative thing because his strength and ability to unsettle defenders really stood out for me.”
