AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has declared that his side have not yet secured their Premier League status for a third successive season.
Goals from Joshua King, Benik Afobe, Marc Pugh and Charlie Daniels secured a 4-0 win over relegation threatened Middlesbrough.
The 3 points lifted the Cherries to 38 points and 12th in the Premier League.
Last season that points tally would have been enough to avoid relegation, the Cherries went on to finish with 42 points and that’s the target Howe is aiming for.
Howe told afcb.co.uk…
‘We started very well and I think that was key, With a game of this importance, to score early did gave us a massive lift, it was the perfect start…’
‘…I’ve always said our aim is to surpass last season’s points tally – we have more points to get and want to finish the season well.
‘We are not safe yet, we’re closing in on last season’s total, but if we play like we did today in the remaining games we will be fine.’
I think all four of the remaining games are winnable,I know Leicester have had a renaissance but we can take something from there.
If I was Eddie I would be disappointed if we don’t take something from each of the remaining games. – Join the conversation here.
