AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said he was impressed with his sides 3-0 victory at stadium:MK.
The Cherries took the lead against their League One promotion rivals when Lewis Grabban latched on to a poor back pass and the clubs leading scorer calmly rounded the ‘keeper before slotting home.
AFC Bournemouth stand in captain Tommy Elphick and Franchise player Ryan Lowe then had a few words and minutes later that escalated into a really poor challenge from Lowe which ended both players involvements in the game.
Elphick was forced off with a knee injury, while Lowe was shown an immediate red card.
Lewis Grabban’s first half stoppage time shot rebounded to Marc Pugh and he fired home to double the Cherries lead.
In the second half a wonder strike from Harry Arter extended the lead to three, before Brett Pitman almost made it four but his effort hit the bar.
Howe told BBC Radio Solent…
‘To come here and win 3-0 was really pleasing. I was very impressed with the players and how they responded and adapted to the different challenges in front of them today.
‘It’s not easy with eleven against ten. We see countless times the ten beat the eleven so we still had a lot to do at half time.
On the incident between Lowe and Elphick he added…
‘I thought it was a disgusting challenge – really really poor. I hope, pray Tommy’s not badly hurt.
‘We don’t know at the moment but it’s a knee problem so we’ll wait and see. To do that to a fellow professional I think is really poor.’
