AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe was pleased that the Cherries continued their recent run of form with a draw at Bury.

The Cherries had to come from behind twice to share the points. Troy Hewitt opened the scoring for the home side inside the opening fifteen minutes before Lewis Grabban scored the Cherries first equaliser of the afternoon on the hour mark.

With just over ten minutes remaining David Worrall capitalised on some poor Cherries defending, slipping the ball under the onrushing David James to put Bury 2-1 up.

But during stoppage time the Cherries managed to find a second equaliser through Brett Pitman. The Cherries striker who had come off the bench twenty minutes earlier opened his goal tally for the season with an excellently taken finish.

AFC Bournemouth are now unbeaten in ten games in all competitions.

Howe told BBC Radio Solent

‘After a poor first half from us, we really got to grips with it in the second half and we had enough chances to have won the game comfortably.

‘I can only praise the lads’ character again because the unbeaten run goes on.

‘We want to achieve something this year and I think we’ve got a group of players who are capable of doing that.’
