AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has praised Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere following his first few months on the south coast.
Wilshere was surprisingly made available for a season-long loan move by Arsene Wenger, on the request of Wilshere as he wanted to play regular first team football.
He was linked to Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, as well as Italian Serie A sides Roma and AC Milan, but opted to make the move to Dean Court.
Prior to his move to AFC Bournemouth he had suffered numerous injury problems and hadn’t completed a 90 minute outing for club or country in over a year.
But during September, October and November, Wilshere has built up his fitness, has completed the last five games without missing a minute and won the AFC Bournemouth supporters player of the month for November.
Howe told the Daily Echo…
“Jack`s come from Arsenal and has huge international experience, so his ability and the club he`s come from are not in question.
“The only thing ever in question with Jack was his fitness and his ability to stay sufficiently injury free to progress that to the level it was at previously.
“In terms of the player and his ability to play in this team – or any team, in my opinion, in England or in any league in the world – that is not in question.”
‘…no doubt that Wilshere is a class above anyone else that I have seen in an AFCB shirt over recent years…we are lucky to have him on board and great to see him coming back to his international potential..we can only gain from him doing that! – Join the conversation here.
