AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes the squad are looking forward to the Championship final run-in.

The Cherries have recently been on a training camp in the United Arab Emirates, enjoying the facilities that Dubai Sports City has to offer.

The move was to reward the Cherries squad for their recent good form and to refresh the players ahead of the final seven games of the season.

The Cherries are currently one point clear at the top of the Championship and travel to 6th placed Ipswich Town on Friday in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

On Monday, AFC Bournemouth host 15th placed Birmingham City before back to back away games at 16th placed Brighton & Hove Albion (also on Sky Sports) and 19th placed Reading.

Howe told The National

“The facilities are first class and I am really, really impressed, The idea was just to refresh the players at a key stage (of the season). The weather in England has been tough this winter, there has not been a lot of sun around, and hopefully this can just be the re-energising we need for the run-in…’

‘…we have got seven to go now, but we are really looking forward to the run-in and to see where it can take us.

“People say we have got a decent run-in but the Championship has proved that no game is easy and no one gives you anything.

“The games are very competitive, the margins are very small between winning and losing, so we respect all the teams in the division and we know it is going to be very tough.”
