AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe insists he is pleased to have Wesley Thomas back from his loan spell with League One neighbours Portsmouth.
The striker enjoyed a 28 day loan spell at Fratton Park, scoring 3 goals in 6 League One appearances.
His return to the Goldsands Stadium however has been hampered by a hamstring problem, which forced him out of recent games, only returning for a 20 minute cameo appearance away to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.
That unfortunately now means that Thomas has scored just 1 goal in a Cherries shirt in his last 23 appearances.
But Howe believes Thomas can rediscover the form he first had when he initially joined the Cherries twelve months ago.
Under former manager Lee Bradbury Thomas enjoyed a rich scoring record, scoring 6 goals in his first 6 away appearances for the club on route to scoring 10 goals in 20 appearances and Howe believes he has all the qualities to do it again.
Howe told the Daily Echo…
“He is quick, he is decent in the air and he has certainly got mobility and will stretch defenders and back fours.
“And he can score goals. He has scored goals for Portsmouth this season and when he first came here, I think his record was nearly one in two.
“That is not a bad record to have at any level and he has got a lot of admirers up and down the division, so we are pleased to have him with us…’
