AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has dismissed reports of a possible transfer move for Callum Wilson.

Last week the Cherries striker Callum Wilson was reportedly a transfer target for Championship outfit Newcastle United.

The report came via chroniclelive.co.uk, who believe that ‘Newcastle United could be ready to return to south coast to lure another one of AFC Bournemouth`s big stars to St James` Park (following Matt Ritchie’s move)’

The report goes on to state that their information comes via ‘sources in Hampshire’ and adds that ‘Wilson could be on United`s radar in the next six months’.

Howe however dismissed the claim telling the Daily Echo

“It`s got no relevance to us. Not to the football club or to Callum. There`s no substance to the story.

“The only time that will influence him is if he believes it or reads it himself. And I would encourage my players to just concentrate on their day-to-day job.”

‘Might’ be on their radar in 6 months. Hardly conclusive..Join the conversation here.
