AFC Bournemouth midfielder Emerson Hyndman is slowly returning back to the first team fold following injury.

Hyndman had his loan spell with Scottish giants Rangers last season cut short due to injury.

The United States international, who was a summer 2016 signing from Championship club Fulham, made the move to the Scottish Premiership side in January.

Hyndman impressed during his spell in Scotland, scoring four times in 17 appearances and winning the Young Player of the Year award.

But a stress fracture to his foot saw him return to Dean Court for treatment.

He has since featured for AFC Bournemouth’s development squad.

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe told the Daily Echo

“It is really nice to see Emerson back. We have had to treat his injury very carefully.

“It was a difficult one to manage during pre-season, where he would train and just suffer a reaction.

“It looks like now he is over that and, in the couple of games he has had, he has done very well, so I am looking to see more of him in the next few weeks.’

He’s almost back I believe – give him a couple of weeks to get fully up to speed and then watch him in the League Cup …..Join the conversation here.
