AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes the new Dean Court pitch will make a difference to the players performances.
The Cherries had a the new pitch installed in just 10 days, prior to the 4-3 win over Liverpool earlier this month. The new pitch boasts a ‘laser-guided SISGrass hybrid system’, which is made from 95% natural turf as well as 5% specially designed PE yarn for increased stability and durability.
It’s the same pitch that will reportedly be used at the 2018 World Cup in Russia and is already used at Barcelona, Chelsea and at St Georges’s Park, where the England team train, according to the Mirror.
Howe told the Daily Echo…
‘We wanted to improve the surface for the players, to make it the same firmness as the training ground they are on every day.
‘Little tweaks do make a difference.’
‘Is this the new Desso then? Maybe missing out because of the waiting list means we’ve managed to get ahead of the game on the new market leader. I wonder if it’s also been fitted to the training ground since one of the things EH and JT previously wanted was an identical surface for training and match conditions. – Join the conversation here.
