AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has praised attacker Lys Mousset after he made his Premier League debut against Sunderland.
AFC Bournemouth completed the signing of 20 year old Lys Mousset from French club Le Havre in June for ?7.3million.
Mousset made his debut for French Ligue 2 side Le Havre when he was 18 and last season he scored 14 goals in 29 appearances as Le Havre almost won promotion to the top flight of French football.
This season he has had to bide his time following his move to the south coast of England.
He featured for 58 minutes in the EFL Cup against both Morecambe and Preston, but had to wait till last weekend to get his first showing in the Premier League.
Mousset replaced Harry Arter for the final 14 minutes of the game.
Howe told the Daily Echo…
“When the ball is pinging around the box you want one to fall to him. He is an excellent finisher and has a rocket shot on him…
“…it was great to see him on the pitch and making his Premier League debut. He is a player of rich potential so it was a good day for him.
“We have some good players in the squad, some good strikers. He`s very young and very willing. I think he wants to do well.
“He`s a player who the future will be bright for if he can continue to show a good work ethic every day.”
Ibe will prove a good signing in time…Cook and Mousset as well… – Join the conversation here.
