AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes that striker Joshua King will only improve on his current form.
King joined the Cherries from Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers in May 2015, having previously turned down a contract with the former Premier League champions.
AFC Bournemouth and Blackburn agreed a fee in the region of £1million for the striker prior to the move heading for a tribunal.
He had made 74 appearances for Blackburn, scoring 8 times.
Now 25, King has shown he can impress in the top division of English football, scoring 17 Premier League goals in 59 appearances with all of those goals coming in his last 49 games.
He has also continued to show his versatility, either playing as a wide attacker or in either the number 10 or number 9 positions.
Howe told the Daily Echo…
‘He is definitely up there as one of my best signings, Whether he is the best or not, I don`t know.
‘The pleasing thing with Joshua is his potential is enormous.
‘We feel there is a lot more to come from him. He`s improving rapidly, he`s making great strides and that is all down to his attitude and how he conducts himself every day.
‘I think there is a really bright future for him.’
The critics would do well to acknowledge where we have been successful – it should also be remembered that it takes time for new signings to reach their full potential in a cherries shirt – King and Fraser are now world beaters in the prem but it doesn’t happen overnight. Imagine how good Ibe, Cook, Mousset, etc could be if they develop at the same rate. – Join the conversation here.
