AFC Bournemouth striker Wesley Thomas may have played his last game for the Cherries.

The forward was left out of AFC Bournemouth’s squad for the trip to Hartlepool on Tuesday night due to a possible future transfer from Dean Court.

Thomas has 18 months remaining on his contract at Dean Court, but Howe has previously indicated that the forward doesn’t want to stay at the club with rumours linking six Championship clubs with Thomas during this January transfer window.

Before Appleton’s departure from Blackpool to move to Blackburn after two months in charge, they had been expected to make a further enquiry for him after having an initial loan move rejected.

Championship clubs Burnley, Birmingham, Huddersfield, Watford and Derby have also been linked.

Thomas had recently broke back into the Cherries squad, coming on as a late substitute against Swindon before starting against both Wigan and Walsall.

Howe told the Daily Echo

‘We will wait and see what happens with Wes. There is interest in him and I think he has a desire to go. If he doesn’t then we will review the situation.’
