AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has called upon the Dean Court faithful to support winger Jordon Ibe.
Ibe came through the youth set up at Wycombe Wanderers before joining Liverpool in 2012 for an undisclosed fee.
Ibe made 58 appearances for Liverpool, including 20 Premier League starts after he broke through into the Liverpool squad in January 2015.
But following the departure of Brendan Rodgers and the appointment of Jürgen Klopp, Ibe dropped down the pecking order at Anfield and would go on to join the Cherries for a club record £15million fee in July 2016.
Since his move to the south coast the 20 year old has made 9 Premier League appearances and has received mixed reviews from sections of the AFC Bournemouth supporter base.
Howe told the Daily Echo…
‘…Like with all young players, we need to show patience and support. As long as he shows the right attitude with me every day, I’ve no doubt he will improve very quickly.
‘Because of his physical make-up, he looks older than he actually is so his age needs to be remembered.’
‘I think some are gifting Ibe too many complements. Arter is allowed to lose the ball every so often, he has earned that right not only every game but over his time at the club. Ibe has yet to produce for the team and makes a larger than normal number of mistakes, especially in the second half of games.
So of course people will not moan at Arter as much, they have confidence and faith in him, thats the reason Ibe is taken off and the crowd less likely to give him the benefit of the doubt. – Join the conversation here.
