AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has backed Cherries record signing Jordon Ibe to fulfil his potential on the south coast.
The former England Under 21’s international joined the Cherries for a club record fee reported to be in the region of £13-15million in July 2016 from Liverpool.
Ibe had made 58 appearances for Liverpool, including 20 Premier League starts, since breaking through into the Liverpool squad in January 2015.
He featured against the Cherries in all three games the sides played during the 2015/16 season.
Ibe has also gone on to start all three Premier League games for the Cherries against Manchester United, West Ham United and Crystal Palace, but is yet to complete 90 minutes.
The 20 year old instead has completed 206 minutes and has shown indifferent form thus far.
Howe told the Daily Echo…
‘…I think he has shown moments of his quality in the league games we’ve had, although I wouldn’t say he has shown it as consistently as he or I would have liked.
‘But I see huge promise in Jordon, huge potential to improve and the chance to show his real quality…’
‘…Like with any wide player, you are going to be judged on your assists, goals and the part you play in attacking play.
‘Of course, I don’t think he’s immune to that. End product is going to be very important for the team but the ability is there, it’s just putting it altogether.’

‘There can’t be many fans left who’d start Ibe against Baggies but I’m fairly confident Eddie Howe will stick with him. – Join the conversation here.
