AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe was pleased to win the Championship Manager Of The Month award for a second time this season.
Howe was selected for the award ahead of nominee’s Mick McCarthy (Ipswich Town), Slavisa Jokanovic (Watford) and Aitor Karanka (Middlesbrough).
The Cherries came through December with five consecutive victories, beating Wolves, Cardiff, Blackpool, Fulham and Millwall.
The run which saw 17 goals scored and 5 conceded, lifted the Cherries to the top of the Championship table over Christmas and New Year.
Howe told afcb.co.uk…
“It`s great to win the award, I`m very pleased because I think it shows we have had a good month, That pleases me no end because you need consistency and we have shown that again in what is a really difficult month around the Christmas period where players have to be very professional and staff have to work long hours.
“It`s about the staff, it`s about the people you have around you and it`s about the players – it`s a team effort.
“Everyone has been rewarded by this award, and of course the supporters who have to travel the length and breadth of the country when everyone else is on holiday.
“It`s a tough ask and comes at a financial cost as well so I am pleased for everybody…
