AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has revealed that midfielder Dan Gosling is set to have a scan on an injured ankle.

The Cherries midfielder had been expected to be involved in the Cherries trip to Aston Villa on Sunday, but he was absent with an ankle injury.

The former Newcastle midfielder turned his ankle in training on Thursday and is set to have a scan later today (Monday).

Andrew Surman and Marc Pugh are also struggling ahead of the Championship tie with Watford on Friday night.

Surman has suffered a dead leg, whilst Pugh has a foot problem.

Howe told the Daily Echo

“Andrew Surman`s is definitely no problem but Dan Gosling`s is slightly more serious. He`s having a scan on Monday.

“Marc Pugh took a nasty bang on his foot but we hope it`s just a bruise at this stage.”
