AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe expects to hold talks over Cherries goalkeeper Artur Boruc’s future in the summer.

The 6ft 4′ shotstopper first arrived at Dean Court on loan with a huge amount of experience, having played for Legia Warsaw in Poland, Celtic in Scotland, Fiorentina in Italy and Southampton in the Premier League.

He played a key part in AFC Bournemouth’s promotion from the Championship to the Premier League keeping 17 clean sheets as the Cherries went on to lift the Football League Championship trophy.

He signed permanently in 2015 and has remained as AFC Bournemouth’s clear first choice ‘keeper during both Premier League campaign’s to date.

Boruc turns 37 next month and his current contract is set to expire in the summer.

Howe told the Daily Echo

“It`s similar to last year with Artur. He played all season and then we sat down in the summer and had a discussion. I`m sure it will be similar again.”

It was reported that AFC Bournemouth had bid for Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

I feel for him – he knows his club is bidding on a new keeper. That’s got to take a certain mental toll.
For other positions, bringing a new guy in doesn’t necessarily mean you’re benched, but it’s different for a keeper.
