AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has praised Cherries Russian owner Maxim Demin.

In November 2011 Russian Businessman Maxim Demin purchased Jeff Mostyn’s 44% and Steve Sly’s 6% of the football club and became AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell’s 50-50 partner.

During his 22 months as co-owner, Demin never spoke to the media, but was often seen at Dean Court as the Cherries pushed for promotion to the Championship.

On 2nd September 2013 Demin purchased the remaining 50% shareholding of the club from the Mitchell family, with Eddie Mitchell stepping down as chairman.

Whilst Demin has now broken his silence with the Russian media, he is yet to speak to either local or British media, with Jeff Mostyn, now in his second spell as chairman very much the face of the board.

But while Demin appears to take a back seat in regards to public eye, Howe has revealed that in regards to internal matters Demin keeps a close eye on things.

Howe told the Daily Echo

“Maxim has put a lot of money into the club and a lot of trust in me. He has allowed me to express myself as a manager and that is all you can ask because it doesn`t always happen.

‘He has given me a licence to run the football side of the club and, although he keeps a close eye on what we are doing, he also lets us get on with our jobs.

“I am in regular dialogue with him and I know where I stand. I am really happy working with the people at the club and working for Maxim. I enjoy a good relationship with him and the board.

“I want to see the club continue to move forwards and upwards and know Maxim shares that ambition.
