AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has accepted his charge from the Football Association following the Sheffield Wednesday match.

Both manager Howe and assistant manager Jason Tindall were charged by the Football Association with misconduct.

The incidents took place following the controversial match between AFC Bournemouth and Sheffield Wednesday, which ended 2-2 following two strong penalty claims for the Cherries waved away by referee Paul Tierney.

During the first half Andrew Surman was felled by Jeremy Helan in the box, but Tierney refused to award a penalty.

During the second half, Tierney was once again refusing to award AFC Bournemouth a penalty when Callum Wilson was taken out inside the box.

Bearing down on goal, Wilson was all set to round ‘keeper Chris Kirkland for his 23rd goal of the season when former Cherries loanee Lewis Buxton brought down Wilson in a desperate attempt to prevent an equaliser. The challenge by Buxton who was last man, was no where near the ball and just six yards from goal and yet the referee awarded a corner.

The Football Association’s charge for Howe alleges ‘improper conduct in that they allege and/or imply bias on the part of a match official or match officials and/or bring the game into disrepute’ following his comments to the media after the game.

Howe has accepted the charge and is expected to receive a fine.

For Tindall, he was charged with ‘abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour towards or in respect of a match official’.

Tindall has opted to plead his case at a personal hearing.
