AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes the trip to Rotherham United will be ‘a good test of character’ for his side.

The Cherries remain top of the Championship heading into the weekends fixtures, but only on goal difference ahead of Derby County after losing at home to Norwich City.

It was the Cherries first defeat in months, ending a fourteen game unbeaten run, a club record in the second tier of English football.

But now Howe is hoping his side can respond following the defeat and believes Rotherham will provide a strong challenge.

Howe told afcb.co.uk

“I don`t think the last game will have any bearing, I think both sides will field different teams and the FA Cup has a totally different feel to league games.

“I expect a bigger crowd and a different examination to the one we had a fortnight ago.

“Hopefully we can step up and meet the challenge head on following on from a defeat.

“The performance against Norwich was unlike us and it will be a good test of character at Rotherham.”
