The Cherries last two visits to London in the Premier League have ended in draws, back in December we visited Selhurst Park to play Crystal Palace and in our last game we visited the London Stadium to play West Ham. Now after a break and not being involved in the FA Cup at the weekend, the Cherries will be visiting London again for a league game, this time to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea on Wednesday evening at 7.45 pm.
Chelsea go into this game after a win at home against Newcastle United in the FA Cup. Since their visit to Dean Court earlier in the season, Chelsea were in 4th place after 10 games and on 19 points. The Cherries were down in 19th position after the same number of games and on 7 points. Since then Chelsea have won 9, drawn 4 and lost just once in the away game at West Ham. After 24 games played by all sides and before the midweek games, Chelsea are 3rd on 50 points. The Cherries are 12th on 25 points.
This will be a tough game for our team, but with their recent form and results in the league, they can go into it full of confidence. The Cherries are five league games unbeaten going into this game. We have played them twice on their ground in the Premier League, Cherries winning on the first visit and Chelsea on the last. In the January transfer market so far Chelsea have signed Ross Barkley from Everton.
Chelsea Team News:
From the Chelsea press conference, Willian, David Luiz and Alvaro Morata are all ruled out for the game against AFCB. Thibaut Courtois who has been out with an ankle injury and Cesc Fabregas who was on the bench after returning from injury for the cup game at the weekend are both available. The absence of Willian is good news for the Cherries, as he and Hazard have been playing well together. Then there are the various transfer rumours that could happen before the deadline.
Player to watch: Eden Hazard
Eden Hazard, looked really good in their last Premier League game away to Brighton and scored 2 goals. Scored the only goal in the game at Dean Court and has a tally of 8 goals and 2 assists in the PL this season so far.
AFC Bournemouth Team News:
No more injuries or illness news has been reported, so Eddie has a strong squad to pick from for Wednesday night. Good to have Josh King and Junior Stanislas available again.
Player to watch: Ryan Fraser
Depending on who starts against Chelsea, Ryan Fraser has been in good form in the league in recent games, if he doesn`t start will go for our leader of the pack Callum Wilson.
