AFC Bournemouth have reportedly made Strasbourg right-back Kenny Lala as one of their main transfer targets this summer, that’s according to Get French Football News.
AFC Bournemouth have been arguably short of options at right back in recent months.
During the final stages of the 2017/18 Premier League campaign, Scotland international Ryan Fraser had to regularly fill in at either right back or right wing-back despite preferring a much more advanced role.
This was because Cherries captain Simon Francis has adopted a more central defensive role and regular right-back Adam Smith was injured.
For many AFC Bournemouth’s supporters a new right-back would be their priority signing, so could Kenny Lala be it?
Having claimed the exclusive for the link, the Get French Football News article doesn’t go any further in suggesting whether or not the Cherries have made an enquiry or a bid for the 26-year-old, neither have they said how much the French side are willing to accept if a bid were made.
Lala joined Strasbourg from Lens 11 months ago and has another year remaining on his current contract.
Having previously come through the youth system at Paris (please note not Paris Saint-Germain), he made his Valenciennes in 2011 where he stayed for four years before his move to Lens.
