AFC Bournemouth midfielder Steven Gregory expects to return to AFC Wimbledon on loan in the January transfer window.

Gregory made the emergency loan move back to his former club in August and that loan deal cannot be extended past 93 days, which means he will return to Dean Court next month.

But he could re-join the League Two side on loan again in January and after making 16 starts for the club, that would be his preferred option.

Gregory told the Hounslow Chronicle

“We`ve not spoken about it in great detail but hopefully that will happen,”

“I like it here and tried hard to get back here when I knew I had to come on loan. It is probably going to materialise that I will be coming back on loan in January. I`d much prefer to come here than any other League Two club…’

‘…I haven`t spoken to Bournemouth at all since I have been here so I think that makes their thoughts quite clear. I`m sure it will materialise in the next few weeks.”
