AFC Bournemouth captain Simon Francis has confessed his frustrations at the lack of consistency the Cherries have shown so far this season.
Whilst AFC Bournemouth will be well placed in the top half of the Premier League table at Christmas, the frustration is there as there is an underlying feeling that things could have been better.
The Cherries are currently 3 points adrift of the top seven and 7 points clear of the relegation places.
Victories over Everton, Liverpool and Premier League champions Leicester City had raised moral, but defeats to Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Burnley and Southampton have seen the Cherries produce some inconsistent results.
Thus far this season, AFC Bournemouth have been unable to put together back-to-back victories, whilst the longest unbeaten run of four games in September/October, included 2 wins and 2 draws.
Francis told afcb.co.uk…
‘Apart from the Southampton game I can’t remember too many games where we haven’t shown much fight, We’ve been excellent at home for the majority of games, the struggle has been our away form and that’s something we need to address with Chelsea and Swansea coming up.
‘We`ve got a little break now until the next game and the inconsistency is something that we need to overcome. We just can`t find that consistency at the moment, back-to-back wins are massive in this division and we don`t want to be labelled as an inconsistent side.’
We’re 10th at Xmas, hardly worrying, needs celebrating. We do have massive room for improvement in some of the decisions we’ve made lately. But it wouldn’t take much to correct.
