AFC Bournemouth captain Simon Francis was delighted the Cherries have finally recorded their first back to back victories of the season.

Wins over West Ham United and Swansea City are the first time the Cherries have recorded back to back victories in the Premier League since March 2016, whilst the win against Swansea provided AFC Bournemouth with their first ‘double’ over a side since promotion to the top flight of English football in 2015.

The clean sheet was the first AFC Bournemouth have recorded since the away victory against Swansea City on New Years Eve 2016 and only the seventh of the season, despite recording the first four during the opening months of the season.

Francis told afcb.co.uk after the game…

‘Without a doubt it`s a massive result to get back-to-back wins, It`s the first time this season and it`s criminal we haven`t done it sooner to be honest.

‘…it`s great to get a couple of consecutive games and some results, the team takes the plaudits.

‘We`ve only kept seven clean sheets this season which is disappointing, we worked so hard in pre-season to defend better and if we keep clean sheets we know we will win games.

‘We`ve got the quality in attack so hopefully some more clean sheets can yield some more results.’
