AFC Bournemouth right back Simon Francis is enjoying his time back in the second tier of English football.
The Cherries full back hasn’t missed a single minute of the Cherries campaign this season, including all 15 Championship games including captaining the side in the absence of Tommy Elphick.
The 28 year old has previous experience of playing at this level, both with Sheffield United and Southend, but following relegation at Southend in 2006/07 he hasn’t played at this level since.
Francis admits that he has enjoyed every game since he’s been back in the Championship, win, lose or draw.
Francis told the Daily Echo…
“…I was fortunate enough to come through pre-season well and have played a lot of games, but I feel fit and that is what I want to be doing at my age, Physically, I feel like I can play two games a week – week in, week out – and I appreciate the manager putting me in every week.
“I first played in the Championship about 10 years ago and half of the teams had not played in the Premier League but, bar a handful, nearly every team has been at the top level now.
“Every game is a big game at a big stadium with lots of fans and I would be lying if I said I hadn`t enjoyed every game, even when we have lost.”
