Back in September DJ had the ingenious idea to have a network game of Sports Interactive’s Football Manager 2007.

The plan was that Up the Cherries readers would get together a few evenings a week to pit their managerial wits against the computer and each other.

The current players are:

Tieger – Reading
DJ – Aston Villa
PaulKenward – West Ham
Red_Chattey – Manchester City
jono_forest – Everton
ukrunningz – Bolton
mwerner – Fulham

The game has been played twice a week for the two weeks and this is an update to show how we are all getting on.

League Table

This is the current league table.
Of the human players, the highest ranked is Up the Cherries very own DJ’s Aston Villa team currently in 7th.

West Ham appear to only know how to win or lose with no draws thus far in the league.

The lowest ranked human player is ukrunningz Bolton team in 20th position.

Form Table

As you can see from the form table, the human team with the best form is DJ with 2 wins, a draw and 2 losses in the last 5 matches.

My West Ham team are trying to claw back up the league after going 7 games without a point, we have won the last two matches on the trot putting us in 13th place.

Closely followed in 14th by jono_forest’s Everton team.

mwerner’s Fulham and Tieger’s Reading team have both won 1, drawn 1 and lost 3 out the past 5.

Propping up the table are both ukrunningz Bolton and Red_Chattey’s Man City team who have both drawn 2 and lost 3 of the last 5

Top Goalscorers

The top scorers table shows us that James Beatie (Everton) and Dean Ashton (West Ham) are tied for top human goalscorer with 5 goals a piece.

They are followed closely by Agustin Delgado, Jose Luis Sierra (Reading) and Collins John (Fulham).

History

This is the history of the top human team (Aston Villa – Green) Vs the bottom human team (Bolton – Yellow).

Villa have had an inconsistant start to the season hovering around 9th position in the table.

Bolton on the other hand are very consistant, they have had a slide down the table and seem rooted to the foot.

Tonight the game continues….

With West Ham still in Europe despite their poor form, can they sustain their run of 2 wins???

Will the Bolton manager survive many more games? His job security is classed as insecure and the fans aren’t impressed with their start to the season.
