AFC Bournemouth defender Steve Cook is reportedly a target for five Premier League sides, with Burnley believed to be one of them.

The report comes via the Lancashire Telegraph, which is riddled with inaccuracies.

They firstly refer to him as ‘Bournemouth captain’, confusing him with Tommy Elphick, although Cook has recently deputised with the arm band in Elphick’s absence.

They also state he is a ‘defender who can play centrally or at right-back’ possibly confusing him with Simon Francis.

The Lancashire Telegraph doesn’t state who the quartet of Premier League clubs who are rivalling Burnley’s interest, however the report does go on to say that Cook isn’t interested in a move to Turf Moor…

‘It is understood he doesn`t particularly want a move to the north west, while he is also uncertain about moving to a Premier League club for whom survival isn`t guaranteed, with Bournemouth currently in a strong position to secure promotion from the Championship
