It has been reported that some Cherries fans’ were caught up in a pre-match brawl in Cheltenham on Saturday.

The Daily Echo has reported that Police were called to the Midland Hotel pub near the railway station at around midday following reports of trouble between the two sets of supporters.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a group of around 50 Cheltenham and AFC Bournemouth fans kick, punch and hurl glasses and bottles at each other.

Police officers arrived at the scene and escorted the away fans to the game.

A Bournemouth Police spokesman…

‘The trouble wasn’t started by the Bournemouth supporters but a handful of them obviously did get involved. Once the situation calmed down the supporters did comply with everything that was asked of them.

‘We will never condone such behaviour and will be working with the club to identify the people involved.’
