I’ve never seen such a sudden turnaround in performance levels before, let alone the scoreline. We should’ve been 3 or 4 down at least. At 87 mins I was struggling to think of a single positive. Our midfield was non-existent, the press was ineffective and the defence looked very weak. It just shows what a difference momentum and confidence make as we could’ve scored another couple in added time!
Superb mental resilience and impressive impact from Dango and Sini. Agree (with others) that Dango at Left Back is a must next game.
2 weeks before the Chelsea game now. Time to study what went so wrong and get Evanilson more in sync with the rest of our team. – To join the conversation, click here.
After the match, AFC Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola told the Daily Echo…
โObviously it’s a very important win for us.
โI think has been the worst game we’ve played from the four games we played this season.
โI think we were the best team in the previous three and I think Everton has been the best team today.
โI think most of the game we’ve played more the game Everton wanted to play than our game and I have to accept that.
โI think they deserve to win today.โ

Absolutely awful for 80 odd minutes but still somehow win.

Summed up in a nutshell. Probably the worst performance under Andoni Iraola ever…followed by the best. Luckily the game doesn’t end on 87 minutes.
It was complete dross until we got one back. Then the magic happened.

One of the most unbelievable games this team has ever played.
This one might blow the Luton comeback out of the water.
Can’t believe what I just watched.

The whole first 11 seemed to collectively have their worst individual performance under AI, Everton rightfully ahead and cruising, probably should have been more than 2.
Our subs changed the game, especially Sinisterra who was almost unplayable. Sinisterra, Scott, and Dango all involved in the goals.

Unbelievable, Iโm still shaking my head on a bus full of very quiet scousers on the way back to Lime St. Atmosphere at the end in the away section was insane. What a finish, this team doesnโt know when itโs beaten.
Fighting till the end ๐ฅ

Lewis Cook able to come from halfway through the entire Everton half down the middle of the pitch, unseen and untracked to pop that header in. A header! Dyche will be fuming!

An incredible turnaround. To be honest 80 minutes defeat looming nothing seemed to go right all afternoon for no great reason. Perhaps fatigue after Wednesday. Everton were much improved than in previous seasons. Come the substitutions everything not just clicked but our fitness shone through. A collective first-class effort with a more than honourable mention not just to Semenyo but our fans who never got on the team’s backs. – To join the conversation, click here.
