AFC Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has been called up to the England Under 19’s squad for the Under 19’s UEFA European Championships.
The Cherries reportedly beat Everton to the signing of England youth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United on in January.
The then 18 year old signed a four and a half year deal at Dean Court after just two appearances for League One side Sheffield United.
Both of his appearances for Sheffield United came in this seasons FA Cup against Leyton Orient and Bolton.
The transfer was officially undisclosed, but reportedly set around the £800,000 mark.
He is yet to make the squad for the Cherries, firmly behind first choice goalkeeper Artur Boruc.
With second choice ‘keeper Adam Federici out for the season with a knee injury, he also appeared to also be behind Ryan Allsop in the pecking order.
Since the end of last season, AFC Bournemouth have also spent a reported £8million on Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.
The Under 19’s UEFA European Championships in Georgia will give Ramsdale the chance to impress as he has been selected alongside Nathan Trott from West Ham United.
England kick off their tournament against Bulgaria on Monday 3rd July, they then face the Netherlands on Thursday 6th July and Germany on Sunday 9th July.
The tournament will be shown on British Eurosport.
