AFC Bournemouth captain Tommy Elphick has admitted that its a big blow to the team lose Charlie Daniels to injury.

The left back has been ruled out for around three weeks due to a thigh problem he sustained against Huddersfield Town.

Veteran left back Ian Harte stepped in to replace Daniels against Huddersfield and he enjoyed only his sixth start of the campaign since making the move to Dean Court during the summer against Leicester City.

But Elphick believes that the side can learn from the experience Harte brings to the defence in Daniels’ absence.

Elphick told afcb.co.uk

“Charlie has got a lot stronger as the season has gone on and was hitting some good form, so it will be a big loss for the team, It`s disappointing for him as well because we have big games coming up.

“But with Ian (Harte) coming in, there`s no panic. He stepped in against Huddersfield in difficult conditions, having not played for a while and didn`t put a foot wrong.

“You have to take your hat off to him because at his age it would be easy to relax, but he doesn`t do that…’

“Hartey has that experience and an aura of someone who has had an amazing career – I think we can all learn something from him.”
