AFC Bournemouth have completed the sale of the Fitness First Stadium.

According to reports on the BBC website, the sale of the stadium was completed today.

Speaking to the BBC, AFC Bournemouth Chairman Peter Phillips said “We haven’t gone from a skint club to a rich club, we’re still a skint club but we just have fewer creditors.

“I’m just pleased it’s all done and dusted – it’s been a huge amount of work.”

The Fitness First Stadium was sold to Structadene for £3.5 million. Structadene was founded by David Pearl in 1978 when it evolved from Pearl & Coutts which was established in 1965.

David Pearl reportedly owns around 3% of Tottenham Hotspur.

The sale leaves the Cherries in around £2.24 million worth of debt after the club paid off debts to the Inland Revenue and Bristol and West.
