Ahead of AFC Bournemouth’s dramatic comeback victory over Liverpool, Dean Court had been given a mini facelift.
Amongst the changes were new dugouts, for both the home and away sides, replacing the wooden benches the away teams had used since the League Two days.

There was also a new black out mesh erected on the east stand roof to shade the camera positions from the low winter sun.
But the most obvious and important change was a new pitch.
In just 10 days a new ‘laser-guided SISGrass hybrid system’ was installed, which is made from 95% natural turf as well as 5% specially designed PE yarn for increased stability and durability.
It’s the same pitch that will reportedly be used at the 2018 World Cup in Russia and is already used at Barcelona, Chelsea and at St Georges’s Park, where the England team train.
AFC Bournemouth head groundsman Robin Wilcox told the Mirror…
‘The new pitch looks great and feels fantastic underfoot.
‘A good playing surface is crucial when it comes to performance and preventing injuries and I’m sure the squad will reap the benefits as we head into the second half of the season.’
The changes didn’t finish there either, as the north stand men’s toilet finally gained a working hand dryer!
‘Is this the new Desso then? Maybe missing out because of the waiting list means we’ve managed to get ahead of the game on the new market leader. I wonder if it’s also been fitted to the training ground since one of the things EH and JT previously wanted was an identical surface for training and match conditions. – Join the conversation here.
