AFC Bournemouth left back Charlie Daniels believes that the Cherries coped well with the gulf in quality against Wigan.
After 180 minutes of football one single goal separated the Cherries with their Premier League counter parts.
In the replay against Wigan, AFC Bournemouth rattled the crossbar on two separate occasions and their ‘keeper needed to be at his best to keep the home side at bay.
For Wigan, it was just one poor pass from Harry Arter which created the opening and they took their one chance to progress to the FA Cup fourth round and an away trip to Macclesfield.
Daniels told afcb.co.uk…
“One mistake cost us, Aside from that we hit the bar twice and created some really good opportunities. They showed their class with the goal though – you make one slip up and you will get punished.
“They didn`t create too much except for the last 15 minutes when we obviously had to go for it. They had a strong team, which we were expecting. They are a Premier League club with quality players.
“They had internationals in their team and you could tell they were top players. I feel though that we played really well and coped with them well and were unlucky not to score.”
