AFC Bournemouth left back Charlie Daniels is hopeful that his partnership down the left wing with Marc Pugh can continue to improve.

The full back struggled to hold down his regular first team place earlier in the season, with competition from Ian Harte keeping him out of the side.

But during the recent long run of form, Daniels has been an integral part of that success and he believes that is down to his partnership with Marc Pugh.

With the left footed Matt Ritchie playing on the right wing and the right footed Marc Pugh playing on the left wing, Daniels believes that causes problems for the opposition when the Cherries are in possession.

Daniels told the Daily Echo

“…I have always played with right-footed wingers so it is something I am used to, You see it working on the other side with Franno (Francis) and Matty (Ritchie) and I think most teams are doing it nowadays.

“It is part of the modern set up to have wingers playing on the opposite side and it helps us with the way the game has evolved.

“I have always had a really good understanding with Pughy and hopefully we can keep improving and come up with a few more different ways to make an impression.”
