Cook should be on the plane to Russia, not captaining the Under 21’s

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook looks set to lead England out as captain in another tournament final this evening.
Last summer Cook captained the Under 20’s side to World Cup glory and this summer, he’s likely to wear the armband for England Under 21’s in the final of the Toulon Tournament against Mexico.
Kick off is at 5.30pm and England will be looking to win the tournament for a third successive year. If they do win, they will be the first country other than France to win three in a row, since the competition began in 1967. (France have won three in a row 1987-1989 and four in a row 2004-2007).
But whilst Cook is on the brink of a slice of history, Cherries team-mate Ryan Fraser doesn’t believe he should be in the squad, as he believes he should have been with the full international squad ahead of the World Cup in Russia.
Fraser told the Daily Echo…
“I think he should have gone (to Russia). In a couple of years, he could be captain for them. He has everything.
“He is not one to talk and tell people where to go. A lot of captains these days do their talking on the pitch with their performances.
“If they set an example with their performance, others will follow. You look at him and he is always having a good game and you aspire to do that.
He added…
“He could play for a top-six club right now if he wanted to. He is a very good player.”
