AFC Bournemouth defender Steve Cook is one booking away from having to serve a suspension.

The Cherries defender alongside captain Tommy Elphick are the only members of the squad to have started all 35 Championship outings so far this season.

Cook also featured in both FA Cup games, with the only games he has sat out coming in the League Cup.

Cook picked up his ninth yellow card of the season against Wolves on Tuesday night, which unfortunately means that he will serve a two game suspension once he picks up his tenth booking of the season.

Cook told the Daily Echo

“It would be a shame to lose an ever-present league record through suspension so I`m hoping that won`t happen.

“But getting a booking won`t come into my mind when I get out on the pitch because if you start thinking about that then your game changes…’

“…Hopefully, I`ll be on the right side of decisions. It`s hard to believe I`ve reached nine bookings already as I only got five in the whole of last season.

“I`m not the sort of player to get rash bookings but it comes down to the referees and they way they see it.”
