AFC Bournemouth defender Steve Cook expects Cherries manager Eddie Howe to make a few changes for the trip to Premier League leaders Chelsea.
A little over twelve months ago, AFC Bournemouth made the trip to then current Premier League champions Chelsea and a late Glenn Murray goal was enough to shock Jose Mourinho’s side.
This season, under Antonio Conte, Chelsea are the favourites to win the Premier League again.
Chelsea are currently 6 points clear of Liverpool, following 11 consecutive Premier League victories.
AFC Bournemouth head into the game following a disappointing performance and result against local neighbours Southampton.
Cherries defender Steve Cook expects more than the forced change of Nathan Ake, who is unable to play against his parent club whilst on loan.
Cook told the Daily Echo…
‘It`s a big shame for Nathan (Ake) but it`s an opportunity for someone else. Hopefully, whoever comes in, can add to this team.
‘But, to be honest, the manager could change more than one person after our performance against Southampton.
‘Whoever plays has a great opportunity to stay in the team and to change our fortunes after that result.’
We’re 10th at Xmas, hardly worrying, needs celebrating. We do have massive room for improvement in some of the decisions we’ve made lately. But it wouldn’t take much to correct.
