AFC Bournemouth defender Steve Cook has revealed that Cherries legend Steve Fletcher has recently been working with the first team defence in training.
In recent games against Manchester United, West Ham United and Swansea City the Cherries have faced three different, but very physical strikers in the form of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Andy Carroll and Fernando Llorente.
None of the above attackers scored against the Cherries, whilst against Swansea City AFC Bournemouth claimed their first clean sheet in 10 games.
Cook believes the additional work from Fletch has helped.
Cook told Radio Solent…
‘At 44, I don’t think there’s many better in the air than him, The coaches are always thinking.’
‘You’re never done, I don’t think, at this club, It’s been helpful and we’ve been working really hard on the training pitch with Fletch.’
‘We’ve come through that tough period, which was worrying, But we’re a strong group and we’ve stuck together and we’ve ground out three great results.
‘When you’re conceding goals, it’s hard to take as that’s your job. That’s been frustrating as, at the start of the season, we weren’t conceding that many.’

How many goals have we conceded from our own mistakes within say 25 yards of our own goal ? It must be near double figures ? Cut out the ridiculous sloppy errors there and things don’t look so bad. – Join the conversation here.
