AFC Bournemouth defender Steve Cook believes that the AFC Bournemouth project, including a new stadium, will attract the best players to the south coast.
AFC Bournemouth have impressed in the top flight of English football, finishing 16th in their maiden campaign in the top division and improving upon that to finish in the top half of the Premier League table in 9th this season.
The building progress at the club doesn’t stop with the season over however, with reported interest in signing England international striker Jermain Defoe.
As Cook also alludes to, AFC Bournemouth are also still looking for potential sites to build a new stadium.
Cook told the Daily Echo…
‘…The club is in a great position to attract the best players in the world. Bournemouth, as a place, can attract whoever because it is a lovely place to live. The club is growing and one thing which will work in our favour is that, hopefully, in years to come we will see a bigger stadium.
‘I’m sure the project of this club and its stature will attract better players.
‘We have a great team and a great bunch of lads. I’m sure the manager will have his targets to fit in with our group.’

Now we have got that FA Cup nonsense out of the way, time to get on the phone methinks. Wouldn’t be surprised to hear more about one or both of these next week (Ake and Begovic, Begovic much more likely). – Join the conversation here.
