Inn off the bar

The Inn Off The Bar is proving a great success with our supporters before the match and afterwards, if you have not visited please do so for a meal and drink in comfortable surroundings. Another successful sportsmen’s dinner was also held this week, and Alan Ball gave a great insight to his life as he progressed into professional football, and on to representing his country and being a member of the winning World Cup Team. Chopper Harris of Chelsea fame is our next guest speaker in January 07 so look out for details.

Ability Counts

Are you aware that within the community side of our club we organise an Ability Counts Football Club? It is for any one with special needs, we have members from the age of 7 years upwards and we have one member who is aged 32. It is run at the Littledown centre on a Thursday evening from 4 p.m. until 5-30 p.m. They also organise matches against other clubs. Last Sunday the club ran a Christmas fete at the Inn Off The Bar and raised £650. For more information on this very worthwhile venture please email kate@afcb.co.uk , or please contact me.

Smoking

The club has today put into place a plan to allow smokers to smoke outside the stadium during the half time interval under the direction of the stewards. This is designed to give smokers the freedom to have a cigarette outside the stadium doors which should stop the smoking in the toilets and give a smoke free atmosphere in the food and drink concourses. Please co-operate with the Stewards and comply with their instructions if you wish to smoke.

Safety committee

And finally Laurence Jones has assured me that following complaints from supporters and as a result of meetings with the Safety committee the stewarding policy in the North Stand and other areas has been reviewed to try and ensure that a safe environment is maintained while treating all supporters fairly and sensibly. We will be monitoring this situation and your Safety Committee representatives would welcome your comments in the coming weeks.
