Veteran striker Steve Claridge played against AFC Bournemouth for the second time in a month on Tuesday and for the third time for three different clubs this season.

In the build up to the fixture at Dean Court last month the former Portsmouth and Weymouth boss questioned the Cherries style of play when put under pressure, stating…

‘…it will be interesting to see how they approach it because they are under pressure now. When you play pressure football, sometimes you can’t always knock the ball around.’(Full story here)

But Claridge who will consider retirement at the end of the season, has now changed his tune explaining to the BBC after the game on Tuesday…

‘Football needs clubs like Bournemouth. They play the game the right way and they give kids a chance.

‘He (O’Driscoll) never compromises his way of playing, even when they’re struggling, and he instils a belief in his players.’

On playing the Cherries 3 times this season he added…

‘I’ve played Bournemouth more than anybody else, I’m fed up with shaking their hands!’
